With the opening of Mahogany Manor in 1997, we began to offer a uniquely elegant lodging experience in downtown Anchorage. This home was the largest home in Anchorage for about 20 years, between the early 1950’s to the early 1970’s and enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding Chugach mountain range and heavily wooded landscape. It afforded the discriminating traveler a lovely, historic bed and breakfast experience in downtown Anchorage.
In response, we acquired the midtown property and converted the Bed and Breakfast to less expensive extended stay rentals. Each property was carefully renovated and remodeled, and now offer nicely furnished and tastefully decorated accommodations as your home away from home. All units are equipped with mini kitchens and a few provide full kitchens (Midtown 1, 2 & 3 bedrooms), provisioned with cookware, dishes, glasses, flatware, storage containers, etc. Also, all units include phone service, linens, toiletries, and laundry facilities.
The result is clean and comfortable extended stay vacation rental & corporate apartments in downtown & midtown Anchorage, and all at reasonable rates for the leisure traveler and professional!

All guest units at Mahogany Manor Properties
have king or queen bed, private bath, robes & slippers, Cable TV w/VCR &/or DVD,
high-speed Internet &/or WiFi, clock radio, CD player, hair dryer, iron & ironing
board, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, extra pillow and blanket. All units have access to
a phone for free local and toll-free calls and on-site coin-op laundry facilities. Some
units with mini kitchens have access to a small full kitchen. All 1, 2 & 3 bedroom
units at the midtown location have fully equipped full kitchens.
Some guest rooms have view of the mountains while others enjoy a view of our lovely yard
or courtyard filled with colorful perennials, Mountain Ash and fruit trees. Each bath has
a private shower or tub/shower combination. Each studio guest unit has sleeping
accommodations for 2 or 3 guests, depending on the unit available. Most king beds can be
split to 2 twins for an additional weekly charge of $25. Most units also have a futon,
roll-away or single sofa bed. Extra bedding is noted with each unit description.
Specific bedding is generally not guaranteed, however we will make every effort to
accommodate guest needs or requests, often at an additional charge. When you book early
enough, we are happy to rent the entire property to large groups or family reunions, etc.
Upon request, we will detail rooms/units and bedding available for planning purposes. A
minimum of 7 nights is required to book the entire property or a large group.
There is a large book and video library as well as a computer available for guest use, at NO additional charge. There is also an Ipod docking station available upon request. We have limited quantities of extra amenities are available on a first come/first serve basis. Our downtown location is approximately 8-12 walking blocks to city center and 6 miles from the airport and 1-3 city blocks to a city bus service. The midtown location is approximately 4 miles from city center and 3 miles from the airport and is within 1 block of a city bus stop. Safe, convenient off-street parking for a car, van or motorcycle is available at both locations. If you are traveling by motor home, we can usually make arrangements for parking with advance notice.

City center is a short 6-14 blocks away and the airport is 10 minutes by car.
