The proprietors of The Grove Inn, Rosetta and Klaus Zimmermann restored the inn, a former boarding house, in 1983

The Grove Inn is now part of the historic site of Alamo Square : Quoting San Francisco Book Of  The Sam Francisco Visitors and Convention Center.

"A tight, escalating formation of Victorian houses is back-dropped by downtown skyscrapers, providing a stunning contrast."  The owners have been actively engaged in Historic Preservation since 1970.

The Grove Inn is located six blocks directly west of the Civic Center home of City Hall, the Opera House, Davies Symphony Hall, the San Francisco Ballet, and the Museum of Modern Art.

A block away is Alamo Square - a hilltop park with one of San Francisco's most spectacular and best known panoramic views. The Grove Inn's central location puts you minutes from the limitless attractions of San Francisco.

Directions: From East and South

The freeways from the east ( Bay Bridge / I-80 ) and from the south ( Airport / US 101 ) will merge from either directions, folow the signs for the Golden Gate Bridge. This will lead you to a split ( for the Golden Gate Bridge or Fell Street ) where you will take the Fell Street exit. After exiting, continue up the hill six blocks to Fillmore Street and turn right. Continue two blocks north on Fillmore Street, and The Grove Inn is locted at the corner of Grove and Fillmore Streets.

Directions: From North

After crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, take the 19th. Avenue exit, which will put onto Park Presidio heading south. You cannot turn left onto Fulton Street, so at Cabrillo Street, turn right, then take an immediate left onto 14th Avenue to the next street, which is Fulton. Turn left onto Fulton Street, and continue east until you reach Fillmore Street, turn right onto Fillmore Street, go one block, and the Grove Inn is at the corner of Fillmore and Grove Streets.

The Grove Inn has group and family rates available.  Children are welcome, however, pets cannot be allowed. A deposit is required to hold reservations. Complimentary continental breakfasts provide a fresh start for a day of business or sightseeing in San Francisco.
