Our Groveland B&B inn is the perfect place to stay for your Tuolumne River rafting expedition and Yosemite adventure. We are located on the most direct, scenic route to Yosemite National Park from the San Francisco Bay area on Highway 120. We are but a brief, awe-inspiring journey from Yosemite 's year-round Northern entrance.
Our Groveland accommodations feature plush featherbeds, private baths, delicious California cuisine, a full-service saloon and free WiFi/high-speed Internet access in all rooms.
We offer free use of a computer with WiFi connection for our guests. .
At the height of
the Gold Rush, it was known as
'The Best House on the Hill.'
Don't let our Southern drawls fool you - we've lived in the Sierra Nevada for more than 20 years, and, oh, the stories we've accumulated! Restoring the Groveland Hotel to its Old West grandeur allowed us many interesting history lessons of the region.
We've also discovered many very special places nearby worth deeper exploration. Our Southern roots run deep, we were both born and raised in Tennessee, and we still firmly believe in old-fashioned Southern Hospitality.
I wish I still had time to fly my Beech Sierra, N2052L, but honestly, I'm more than content to share a bottle of wine and my knowledge of the Groveland area with guests and members of our community.

Between our front door and Yosemite's
gates, experience world-class river rafting on the Wild and Scenic Tuolumne
River, hike and bike hundreds of miles of trails in the Stanislaus
National Forest, cast a line in a multitude of rivers and streams, sled with some
silly friends, cross-country ski and snow-shoe.
Bird watching and wildlife spotting is a local pastime. We boast great gray owl and black bear habitat and a whole lot of other wildlife. Visit our local wildlife experts at Mountain Sage for an insider's scoop.
More refined activities such as horseback riding, golfing and tennis are a stone's throw away at Pine Mountain Lake.
Cultural adventures not to be missed include the Strawberry Music Festival held yearly on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, wine tasting in Murphys, antique shopping in Jamestown and Sonora and attending year-round theatre
productions in Sonora. Stop in for directions and stay for the experience.
What's New In Groveland
We may have a relatively small population up here, but we've got an incredibly diverse and interesting community, with endless recreational opportunities wouldn't you say?
We are ranchers, volunteers, artists, died-in-the-wool Republicans, groovy new-agers, aging hippies, fiddle players, Forest Service employees, writers, photographers, naturalists, entrepreneurs, retired and not-so-retired business executives, opera singers, loggers, tree-huggers, and just regular folks who love our clear night skies, the smell of pine and cedar trees, no traffic lights or rush hour traffic and lots of elbow room.
gateway to the Central Sierra Gold Country and Yosemite North, Tuolumne County is a
tourist mecca of bed and breakfast inns, skiing, and water sports........
