Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains among acres of orange groves, lies The Plantation Bed & Breakfast of Lemon Cove, CA. For over one hundred years, this 4,500 square foot home on twenty acres of orange groves was known as the Mesa Verde Citrus Plantation. In 1996, the Plantation House was transformed into the Plantation Bed & Breakfast and remains on one and a half acres of the original twenty. Take a step back in time when you walk into the original settlers' house, built from river rock in 1880.
Stroll through the lawns and acre Grove Park and you will see not only orange trees but grapefruit, plum, apricot, cherry, lemon, tangerine, avocado, fig, pear, pomegranate, apple, nectarine, banana and olive trees, as well as grapevines and herb and vegetable gardens that provide the freshest produce possible. Just for your sensual delight recline in an Adirondack chair under a weeping willow, laze in a hammock suspended between palm trees and enjoy the birds and butterflies flitting among the many blossoming vines, shrubs, flowers and ornamental and shade trees.
Mornings Are Special
At the Plantation Bed and Breakfast wake up to sunshine, the sound of chirping birds and the aroma of Chef Marie's lavish gourmet breakfast. The meal begins with a buffet laden with freshly picked fruit from the local fields, Marie's Famous granola, fresh baked culinary creations and ends with a sumptuous hot entrée. Every morning, Scott picks oranges from the plantation groves for fresh squeezed orange juice. Enjoy this memorable meal in the elegant dining room or sit outside in the spacious brick courtyard overlooking the pool and gardens. In the last eight years over 22,000 people from 90 countries have enjoyed Chef Marie's breakfast.
