Refinished parquet floors and paneled wood doors shine like glass; working fireplaces dominate and radiate the lounge and reading room; a magnificent floor-to-ceiling gilded mirror casts a glance at each passer-by; and the numerous hallways and staircases allow clients of both the Inn and Spa to move separately about.
By the Sea Inn & Spa is owned and operated by Marilyn Acquarulo and Mary Ellen (Mel) Julian. These two highly trained professionals in the fields of health and beauty have been providing day spa services to a diversified clientele since 1982.
By the Sea is the largest day spa in New Haven County. It was first located on New Haven Harbor in 1994, and moved to its expansive, custom-designed Branford facility in the summer of 1999. The Spa has nine treatment rooms, a sauna and private areas for waxing and makeup applications. Manicures and pedicures are given in a big, bright, airy, glassed-in sun porch.
Women and men of all ages can select
from a myriad of relaxing and revitalizing services such as: European skin treatment,
facial rejuvenation, massage therapy, hand and foot care, mud and seaweed body wraps and
aromatherapy salt scrubs.
By the Sea's spa packages are fantastic feasts for the mind and body. Designed to satisfy
the clients desire to be pampered treatments can last from 2 and one half to 7 hours.

By the Sea's overnight guests enjoy beautifully furnished rooms with mile-high, pillow-endowed and quilted beds, lace window treatments and private baths and showers. |
For those who like to live in the lap of luxury, there's a sensational, spacious two-bedroom suite with its own kitchen and outside entrance.
A continental breakfast is served between 7:30-9:30 each
morning in the Inn's breakfast nook. It is also a pleasant, peaceful place
to have a cup of coffee or spot of tea. Or just sit and relax on the inn's flower laden
deck.
By the Sea's living room and TV/reading lounge are
aesthetically appealing with lovely antiques and overstuffed wicker couches and side
chairs.
By the Sea is centrally located between New York and Boston, convenient to Interstate 95, just 15 minutes east of New Haven and less than one hour west of the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos.
