The Captain Stannard House Bed and Breakfast Country Inn, abundant in history, charm and space can be found on the Connecticut Shoreline in quaint Westbrook. This sea captain’s manor is your perfect destination in every season. It is the ideal atmosphere to explore spring love, one charming block from the beach in summer, the perfect setting to experience autumn in New England, and ideal for a romantic winter getaway.

Located on South Main Street just off Boston Post Rd. (RT 1), we are midway between New York City and Boston, one hour from Hartford with easy access to RT 9 and I-95.

We offer nine beautifully appointed guest rooms with comfortable queen beds, freshly pressed cotton linens, individual climate controls, private baths, desks and sitting areas.

The Captain Stannard House can easily accommodate large groups of people for several days. We welcome weddings and other festive events. Our Dining Room can seat 26 comfortably. Our Great Room offers a large selection of board games in the Armoire. An on-going jig-saw puzzle, chess for two, television, multi CD player, regulation pool table and a stocked mini-fridge behind the bar.

The Captain Stannard House Bed and Breakfast Country Inn is a unique and wonderful setting for bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies, receptions, and wedding pictures. This 1872 restored Sea Captain’s Manor with attached converted barns provides large common areas, a magnificent 80’ porch overlooking lovely gardens and Gazebo. We are an exceptional setting for all your wedding activities.

Lydia’s Room upstairs, the bride’s dressing room with a beautiful vanity, a full-length mirror and armchair, awaits your arrival.

Policies

Full Payment is required to reserve a room.
Cancellation 14 days or more prior to arrival for full refund. Cancellation less than 14 days prior to arrival will be refunded only if we are able to re-book the room for the nights cancelled. There is a 10% processing fee for all cancellations.
Check-in is between 4-7 P.M. Rooms are not available before. Late arrivals may call ahead for special arrangements.
Check-out time is 11 A.M.
Maximum occupancy of guest rooms is two guests. We do not permit more than two guests in a room.
Children over 12 are welcome. Families must reserve one room for every two people in the group.
Smoking is permitted outside the Inn.
Pets are not permitted.
