The Steamboat House offers 13-foot ceilings, main and second floor parlors, library, and a large formal dining room where a full breakfast is served on antique china and crystal daily. This beautifully maintained home was built in 1855 by steamboat captain and mining entrepreneur Daniel Harris. |

The mansion showcases many antiques and heirloom pieces, but maintains a casual, friendly atmosphere. Guests are encouraged to use the
three main floor parlors, billiard parlor, library, second floor central parlor and formal
dining room, which provide many places to read, mingle with other guests, and enjoy a
relaxing bed and breakfast

Wine and cheese (Fri/Sat/Sun) or afternoon dessert welcomes guests after a busy day in Galena and a covered front porch invites relaxation and an opportunity to enjoy the unique beauty of the area.
The guestrooms at our Galena, Illinois bed and breakfast rival accommodations at luxury hotels and are equipped with a fireplace, private bath, flat-screen LCD TV w/DVD player, highest quality linens, queen bed (Elsie room has an additional twin bed). Exclusive to The Steamboat House --the Bess room also has a private, screened porch. Coffee and teas are served outside the guestrooms at 7:30 each morning. In the evening, enjoy hot beverages in the upstairs parlor beginning at 8pm.
All rooms have a fireplace, private bath, cable TV, VCR and queen size bed. Rooms are furnished with heirloom antiques, including historic photographs, certificates and original artwork. |
