You can spend hours looking through our scrapbooks filled with the history of the home and the Hay Kings who developed Southern Indiana's riverboat trade. The Inn houses a collection of 18th and 19th century museum quality artwork consisting of landscapes and early American portraits. We are located 7 miles from the Belterra Riverboat Casino, and are within 23 miles of four major wineries.

Enjoy the "good old days" with a working wind-up Victrola and original records. Or … Cable TV, current magazines and numerous short article books in front of the working fireplace.

A full hot breakfast is served in the Sunny Dining room overlooking the river … Juice, fruit, muffins, and a homemade entrée. Original cherry woodwork and working fireplace.

If you like history you will find Rosemont fascinating. You can spend hours looking through our scrapbooks filled with history on the Hay Kings who built the Southern Indiana area in the 1800's. We have extensive history and pictures with family trees dating back into the 16th Century.

Activities at the Rosemont include fishing from our front lawn, volleyball, badminton, and lawn croquet. For those who are inclined to a less active stay, Rosemont offers a fine library, current magazines, rotating museum quality artwork exhibitions, cable television in the parlor, and a 1900 Victrola with a well stocked supply of antique wax records. The Innkeepers and curator are always eager to answer questions and provide tours of this frozen in time Ohio River jewel.

Rosemont is located on 2 1/2 acres on the banks of the Ohio River in Southern Indiana’s historic Switzerland County. Vevay Indiana is a sleepy little river village of about 1800 souls. The town the river and the rolling hills and farms around it are much as they where in the 1800's when the “Hay Trade” built Rosemont. The area has an abundance of county and State parks nearby, only 6 miles upriver is the Markland Dam and river lock. Maybe you’ll be lucky and see the famous Mississippi or Delta Queens locking through.

If fast gambling action is your game: Belterra Casino provides riverboat gambling, 5 gourmet restaurants, day spa, and a championship 18 hole golf course.

If you’re a racing fan, Kentucky Speedway is an 80,000 seat NASCAR and CART racetrack just up the hill in Sparta KY. Maybe you’ve seen one of their races on ESPN, or FOX TV.

From the moment you arrive at Rosemont Inn you will realize you have been transported back to a gentler and grander era. The entry hallway and etched glass front doors will greet and introduce you to the ornately carved hardwoods that abound in this stately 1881 mansion. The Persian carpets, luxurious leather library sofas, working fireplaces, and period American portraiture and landscape oils awake the senses dulled by the world of cell phones, ipods and Blackberrys.
