Listed on the National Historic Register, circa 1810, this enchanting seaside Country Inn offers comfortably elegant rooms and graciously served breakfasts. Built in the Queen Anne style by the Fish and Goodspeed families, the Inn is surrounded by lush, green lawns and colorful gardens.
Like no other village on the Cape, West Barnstable is defined by its history and geography both of which are evident as you approach the village from the west. Route 6A, designated one of the ten outstanding scenic byways in America, gracefully winds its way along the northern edge of the Cape. Stately elms and maples line the route forming, in spring and summer, a lush canopy over this former stagecoach path. In the fall, the canopy changes to a blaze of harvest colors. Breakfast at The Honeysuckle Hill Bed and Breakfast
At Honeysuckle Hill, a four course breakfast is included in the room rates and is served in the sunny dining room. The menu changes daily and offers such gourmet treats as Eggs Benedict, Grand Marnier French Toast and French Crepes. Fruits in season, a choice of juice and freshly baked muffins, breads or coffee cakes accompany the entrée. Homemade granola, a specialty of the Inn, is always available. Early coffee and tea, along with the morning newspapers, is served on the front porch.
The guest parlor, with its wood burning fireplace and built-in bookshelves, is elegantly furnished with antiques and family pieces. Another favorite gathering spot for guests at Honeysuckle Hill is the wicker-filled screened porch. The guest refrigerator, stocked with beverages, is located here along with towels, beach chairs and shade umbrellas for a day at the beach.
Near the private patio, with its deluxe grill and patio seating, a luxury spa is tucked into a secluded area of the garden. Guests can also retreat to a screened Gazebo in the Inn's woodland area with a good book or for private conversation.
