It was Wilbur and Eleanor Purrington in 1900 that had the Victorian vision to lift up the entire house to create a new first floor with high stately ceilings. Wilbur's pride and joy is the magnificent fireplace in the parlor that is set off by tall Corinthian columns featuring ornate ram's head capitals.
