Eleven rooms and three suites, all with spa tubs and fireplaces are complemented by an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, generous amenities, a gracious and truly helpful staff and a superb location. The on-site spa is open daily and offers a full range of relaxing treatments, all featuring Aveda products and skillful professionals. And, we're smoke free.

Three historic homes make up what is now one of St.Michaels premier inns, Five Gables. All were abandoned eyesores in an otherwise charming neighborhood of boutiques and restaurants. A painstakingly thorough renovation and expansion over most of the nineties has yielded an inn of which locals and history buffs are equally proud.

Circa 1860, the properties are among some of the earlier structures in St. Michaels. Today, guests often relax on the porches enjoying the vivid blooms of the surrounding Crepe Myrtles. Many original details remain and are complemented by modern comforts like totally renovated bathrooms, down duvets, TVs, CD players and fine linens.

Our Aveda Concept Spa exclusively uses Aveda products. We offer a number os spa packages and would be happy to individually create one for you. We have a Heated Indoor pool, Steam room and Sauna. Treatments available by appointment.

Rates: $150 - $385
All rooms have private bathroom with whirlpool tub, gas log fireplaces, porches, AC, cable TV with VCR, & CD Players.
Suite 78 – Secluded room with queen size bed & TV. French doors open onto a cosy sitting area with large TV & VCR, fireplace and balcony. Two bathrooms, one with double whirlpool, one with multi-jet shower. Refrigerator in room.
Suite 56 – Two separate rooms. Bedroom has King size bed TV & fireplace. Separate lounge has fireplace, large TV with VCR & refrigerator. Spacious bathroom with double whirlpool, dual sinks & multi-jet shower.
Suite 202 – Spacious bedroom with King size bed, fireplace, large TV with VCR and chaise lounge. Oversized club chairs in the sitting area with TV and refrigerator. Bathroom has double whirlpool, dual sinks & multi-jet shower. This Suite has a porch, private entrance and private parking.
Rates are per room, per night for two people and include Continental breakfast.
Check-in is from 3pm.
Checkout is before Noon.
Two night minimum on all weekends and for all suites. Weekend rates apply on holidays.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:
Your credit card will hold your reservation. Cancellations will be accepted by written request only. Email is sufficient. Should it be necessary to cancel your reservation within 14 days of your arrival date we will make every effort to re-sell the accommodations. If we are unable to do this you will be charged for the first nights stay.

St. Michaels is a charming waterfront village along the Chesapeake Bay,
a longtime haven for yachts, sailboats and relaxation and only 40 minutes from the Bay Bridge.

Stroll the main street, browsing boutiques ranging from handmade candies to waterfowl replicas and local artwork. Enjoy fresh local blue crabs at one of the waterfront crab houses with ale and corn on the cob or crab cake sandwiches and soup at Michael Rork's Town Dock Restaurant. The dinning room commands spectacular views over the harbor, and chef Rork's menu compliments the specialties of the Bay.

Learn the history of the bay at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, Then spend the afternoon sailing the bay on a Skipjack. The Rebecca Ruark, one of a precious few remaining Sailing Oyster Boats has a history dating back to 1886. Her Captain, Wade Murphy will charm you with his stories and history of the skipjack and the bay.

Once you've enjoyed the treasures of the bay, a relaxing massage and a warm fireplace welcome you home.
