Our Accommodations

The Old Gratitude House, an Eastern Shore Bed & Breakfast, offers you the choice of two beautifully decorated and appointed guestrooms and suites, all with large private decks overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Included in our room rates are complimentary beverages, snacks, and a delicious three-course gourmet breakfast served outside on the deck facing the bay. Our guests also have unlimited use of our kayaks and bikes.

The Chesapeake Bay View has two large comfortable guest rooms on the second floor.  We have retained the house’s original hardwood floors and much of its history, while adding modern bathrooms and other amenities to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms have 22 inch flat screen HD/DVD combo TVs, mini-refrigerators with complementary bottled water, hair dryers and fluffy robes.

Comfortable Adirondack chairs line the waterfront. Grab an early cup of coffee and watch the parade of boats from Swan Creek.

The Sunrise Room faces east and is full of early morning sunshine. It has a private bath with an oversized shower, comfortable queen-sized bed, and two easy chairs for reading or watching TV. The room is $195 per night.

The Sunset Room faces west into the sunset and out onto the Chesapeake Bay. It has a private bath with an oversized shower, comfortable queen- sized bed, and two easy chairs for reading or watching TV. The room is $195 per night.

Room rates apply to our peak season of April 14th through October 30th, except for special events.

Reservations:
Reservations must be secured by a major credit card, and are payable in full on arrival. A deposit equal to one-half the total room cost is required when making a reservation for a stay of four days or longer or when reserving both of our guest rooms on a single credit card. The balance is payable on arrival.

Cancellations
We are a small Inn and guarantee to hold your room unless you tell us otherwise at least 10 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. In case of emergency and you have to cancel within the 10 days, we will try our best to rebook your room. Unfortunately, you will be charged the cost of your room if it stays empty for part or the full length of your reservation. Sorry, no exceptions. A processing fee of $30 applies to all cancellations and changes.

  • The Chesapeake Bay View is a non-smoking establishment. Absolutely no burning of candles or incense is permitted in the guest rooms.
  • We regret that we cannot accommodate young children nor pets. Our rooms have queen size beds and sleep a maximum of two guests.
  • We will seek to accommodate personal dietary needs or other restrictions if you let us know at least two days in advance.
  • Check-in time is 3:00-4:00 PM or as arranged in advance, and checkout time is 11:00 AM. Late check-outs are generally not available.
  • Breakfast is served at 9:00am and seating is outside when weather permits.
Arriving by Boat:
For those of you wishing to arrive by water, transit boat slips are available next door at Gratitude Marina.
Special Occasions:
We can arrange a beautiful bouquet, champagne, chocolate dipped strawberries or a colorful fruit basket. Let us know what you have in mind. We will do our best to accommodate your special occasion. If you need restaurant recommendations or reservations, please let us know ahead of time so your special surprise can be ready when you arrive.

Returning Old Gratitude House Guests receive a 10% discount on their rooms rates as a special thank you from Hank & Sandy.
Gift Certificates:
Gift Certificates for an Old Gratitude House stay make a wonderful gift for those special occasions and holidays. Certificates of any dollar amount are available. Please call or email us with any questions you may have!
