You will find the Acadia View to be a warm and friendly place to stay offering casual elegance in comfortable surroundings. There is a large comfortable great room with a fireplace overlooking the ocean and a winding path down to the shoreline. You will wake up to a full breakfast where you can spread out your map to plan a hike or maybe look out to the hammock where you might spend several hours with a good book. There is no rush here, you are in Maine.

There are four tastefully decorated guestrooms, each with its own private bathroom two of which have full baths and two with large tiled showers. All rooms have decks from which to take in the spectacular views, watch for the bald eagles, enjoy a radiant sunset or listen for the loons haunting calls. |

| Cranberry Bay This vaulted room has unimpeded views over the islands of Frenchman Bay to the mountains of Acadia National Park. The french doors open onto your own second floor deck where you can sit to read a book, sip a glass of wine and watch a flaming sunset. | Frenchman's Bay Aptly named for the beautiful bay which commands the view from this room. French glass doors open onto the first floor deck where you have your own chairs and easy access to the hammock as well as the path down the hill to the ocean. Stand and watch for The Cat across the bay as it departs for Nova Scotia, sit at your writing table to compose a note to a friend or soak in a private bath. Your stay here can be addictive. | Flanders Bay This is a beautiful second floor room with a partial view of the ocean from the bay window and a door opening onto a small private deck where you have a commanding view out to Hog Island and Frenchman Bay beyond. | Sea Heather Bay The Sea Heather is a well appointed room with a writing desk situated in a bay window from which you get a partial view of the ocean. As with the Flanders Bay room you have private access to your own deck area overlooking the ocean. We are located on a high ocean front bluff with breathtaking views of Frenchmans
Bay, the mountains of Acadia National Park and
the lights of Bar Harbor. We are on the quiet side of the bay
yet surrounded with all kinds of interesting sites and activities. Nearby you will find
the Schoodic Peninsula branch of Acadia National Park
with the stunning views along Park Loop Road and the crashing surf at Schoodic
Point. You can take a vigorous hike up Schoodic Mountain or Black
Mountain or a more sedate walk along the shore at Petit Manan
wildlife refuge.
There are nearby bike and kayak rentals and a variety of unique studios and galleries. You can visit the U.S. Bells foundry and gift shop, Lee Art Glass, the glassblowers at Gypsy Moose Glass Studio or the old fashioned Winter Harbor 5 & 10. There are several golf courses in the area and half a dozen great places to eat within 15 minutes. And then, when you want to take in the sites of Bar Harbor or go whale watching, it is a scenic 30 mile drive away. Campobello Island, Roosevelts summer home is an easy daytrip as is all of Downeast Maine and parts of coastal New Brunswick and the Bay of Fundy.

If you are making your first visit to the area or your five-hundredth, you will find Acadia View to be a great place to call home. We are located on Coastal Rt. 1, one of the most scenic roads in America (formally designated a National Scenic Byway along Frenchmans Bay), and we are right in the heart of Downeast Maine.
