Welcome to The Inn at Bath, one of the most elegant, comfortable and romantic bed and breakfasts in Maine.

This 1810 Greek Revival home is located on a tree-lined street in the heart of Bath’s Historic District, within easy walking distance of charming shops and excellent restaurants.

A defining characteristic of The Inn at Bath is its casual and relaxed atmosphere where guests feel totally at home in the midst of handsome antiques, lovely decorations and luxury amenities. Outside you will marvel at the stunning and serene gardens coupled with gracious architecture. Our Inn is a Maine Bed and Breakfast like no other.

The rooms all have private bathrooms contained within the bedroom - no dashes down the hall in your towel! Except for The Sail Loft, which has a large shower with seat, our guest bathrooms all have both showers and bathtubs.

The Inn at Bath has been called one of the most guest-friendly bed and breakfasts in Maine. Today, through creative design and decorative treatments each of The Inn at Bath's guest rooms has its own special individuality. This quality is enhanced by 18th and 19th century antiques, lovely fabrics and what many guests call "the special touches." The Inn's beautifully-appointed and spacious guest rooms have private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable television, VCR's, AM-FM clock radio/cassette players and telephones. CD players are also available. For our guests’ convenience, the Inn has a fax machine, a computer for access to the internet or e-mail and WI-FI for those with wireless laptops. Off-street parking isavailable. The Inn welcomes children 4 years of age and older and dogs.

We also have a handicapped accessible first floor level guest room built to ADA specifications which includes the required outdoor entrance ramp with year-'round accessibility.

The Inn is located in Bath's quiet and picturesque Historic District, just a block from the tidal Kennebec River which empties into the Atlantic Ocean 12 miles away. Within walking distance are Bath’s shops and restaurants, The Chocolate Church Arts Center, Bath Iron Works and the Maine Maritime Museum. Not far from The Inn is L.L. Bean and the Freeport retail outlets. Bowdoin College with its museums and historic sites is in the adjoining town of Brunswick, while Bates and Colby Colleges are within lodging distance. The ocean is close by and can be enjoyed at Reid State Park, a rugged and scenic beach, and at Popham Beach, a glorious five-mile stretch of white sand rated one of the most beautiful beaches in New England.

  • Additional Persons
    For a third guest in a given guest room , there is an additional nightly charge of $50.00 for each additional person. (Not all of our rooms are conducive to adding another person.) For visiting pets, there is a nightly charge of $15.00.
  • Payment
    Visa, Master Card, and American Express credit cards are accepted. The Innkeeper prefers personal, corporate or traveler's checks, or cash.
    A 7% Maine State Lodging tax is added to our guests' statements. Gratuities are optional.
  • Minimum Stay
    Although we generally have a two-night minimum stay over weekends and national and religious holidays, the combination of certain days often results in one-night availability for Friday or Saturday night, so do e-mail or call us to check.
  • Children and Pets
    Children and pets are welcome, but selectively, and should be discussed with us when you make your reservation. Please see our Reservations section on our Homepage for our "House Rules for Visiting Pets."
  • Bath Cancer Treatment Center Patients
    If you are a cancer patient at the Bath Cancer Treatment Center, we will give you a complimentary guest room, depending upon our availability, during your treatment.
  • Smoking
    Smoking is not permitted inside The Inn. Guests may smoke on the porches or in the gardens.
