The LimeRock Inn ..."reminisce
in elegance ..." is tucked away on a quiet
street in Rockland, encircled by a wraparound porch and landscaped gardens.
This beautiful turreted Victorian mansion is an exquisite example of Queen Anne architecture and reminiscent of the gracious lifestyle of a bygone era.
Situated in the historic district of Rockland, The LimeRock Inn is steps away from a
visit to Rockland's world-class Farnsworth
Museum, fine dining, European-style shopping, and what Down East magazine
referred to as "mid-coast Maine's most beautiful ocean walk."
All of the rooms at the LimeRock Inn are decorated with care to create a home with elegance and luxury, yet have charm and character to ensure comfort and hospitality. We use only Egyptian cotton bed linens and bath towels. All of the bed coverlets are custom made.
There are eight spacious and comfortable guest rooms, furnished with an eye to period detail. Each of our guest rooms has its own private luxury bath and either queen or king size bed; some have whirlpool tubs, one has a fireplace.
A delicious gourmet breakfast and afternoon snack are included in your stay, with room rates ranging from $149 to $229.
Breakfast at the LimeRock Inn is a culinary experience.
|Breakfast at the LimeRock Inn is a culinary
experience. Frank and PJ, the Innkeepers, have a simple outlook on food and fine dining.
They believe that only two kinds of people exist in the world...those who "eat to
live" and those who "live to eat". Being lifetime members of the later
group, they believe that the right setting is the best accompaniment for good food.
At the LimeRock Inn, you will be treated to seasonal fruit, homemade breads, regional fruit jams and, of course, plenty of freshly brewed coffee using a special blend from the locally owned Rock City Roasters (www.rockcitycoffee.com). Tea drinkers are offered tea from a generous selection of black and herbal teas. Entrees reflect the culinary influences of the Innkeepers. Frank and PJ are well traveled domestically, so emphasis is on traditional American cuisine. Infusions of other influences include family recipes of Frittatas and Italian pastries from travels in northern Lazio, Italy.
Your Innkeepers, Frank Isganitis and PJ Walter, are recent corporate refugees having traded long commutes and corporate meetings for a much more rewarding and hands-on career. Both are originally from New Jersey, but now call Maine their home!
Frank and PJ are no strangers to hard work and wanted a career that was
both challenging and rewarding. After completing a substantial renovation of their 19th
century farmhouse in Central New Jersey, Frank and PJ found they really
enjoyed the work. They also enjoyed entertaining and the accolades they received for a job
well done. Life long friends and Frank's family (he is the youngest of seven children)
provided a constant stream of evening and overnight houseguests.
It was preparing for a large family gathering that Frank and PJ realized innkeeping was their future. It was an arduous search, but fate intervened and led them to Rockland and The LimeRock Inn. With their dream realized, they look forward to providing their guests with unparalleled service in an environment of comfortable elegance.
This exquisite Queen Anne victorian mansion is located just steps away from downtown and Rockland area attractions.
