| Graystone Inn,
originally "The Bridgers Mansion", was built in
1905-1906 by Elizabeth Haywood Bridgers, widow of Preston L. Bridgers, local merchant and
son of Robert Rufus Bridgers, past president of the Atlantic Coast Line Railway, founder
of the Wilmington/Weldon Railroad, and two time representative to the Confederate
Congress. An historic landmark and one of the most elegant structures in Wilmington, the Inn is under new ownership and has undergone extensive renovations, returning the site to its "turn of the century grandeur". |
The spacious sunlit Parlor and Sitting Room, features comfortable sofas, chairs and period antiques. The adjoining Music Room, holding a baby grand piano, stunning mahogany-paneled Library, and elegantly set dining room all complete the vast ground floor of the Inn.
Made of hand-carved oak and rising three stories, the grand Renaissance-style staircase envelopes the Ballroom. The exquisite garden and terraces provide a most relaxing atmosphere year round.
Guests sleep on sumptuous linens of Egyptian cotton, down-alternative pillows and European Matelasse coverlets. Relax at bath time with Gilchrist and Soames bath amenities and Graystone Inn robes for your comfort. Each room has a television, telephone, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, as well as free Wi-Fi Internet service. Daily newspapers are available in the parlor, and complimentary snacks and beverages are offered for guests 24 hours a day in the inn's beverage center. |

At the Graystone Inn, every day
begins with a delicious breakfast in our English Manor-style dining room.
Guests are greeted by soft music and candlelight as they walk down the renaissance
staircase to breakfast. The Graystone has its own custom blend of locally roasted coffee,
and chilled juices ready for guests to start the day. Homemade breads, muffins, pastries,
and fresh fruit and yogurt are available for guests to savor while a full, hot, plated
breakfast is freshly prepared. The main dish is chef's choice and varies daily. Local
favorites include dishes such as Eggs Benedict, Blueberry Johnny Cakes, the Inn's
famous Key Lime Stuffed French Toast, Ginger Pear Pancakes, and assorted frittatas and
quiches with savory hams and sausages.
The Graystone Inn is always glad to
accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and diabetic diets with at
least two days advance notice of such dietary restrictions. Just let us know when you make
your reservation, and we will specially prepare a breakfast that will give you the energy
to explore Wilmington and the Cape Fear area.
A Continental breakfast with a sideboard buffet including juice,
cereal, milk, fresh fruit and sweets, is served between 8:30 and 10:00 and a full
cooked breakfast is served between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. Coffee, tea, beverages and snacks
are available any time in the inn's beverage center located on the first floor.

Located in the historic district of downtown Wilmington,
just three short blocks from the River Walk, shops and restaurants, The Graystone
