Since 1910 the Switzerland Inn in Little Switzerland, NC, has offered a unique experience to the traveler seeking something out of the ordinary.

Select from spacious rooms in the main lodge, mountain view suites, private chalets or a honeymoon cottage complete with a fireplace.

We have various accommodations from which to choose, depending on the type of experience you want.

Main Building
Recent renovations make these rooms beautifully appointed and comfortable. Most have balconies, all have cable TV, phone and private bath. Most of the rooms in the main lodge are non-smoking. The mountain view rooms have a wonderful view of the beautiful peaks that give this area its name. The shop-side rooms have easy access to the great Swiss Shops....Rates: $125 - $170
Chanticleer Building
This building sits on the point of the property at the site
of the original Switzerland Inn. The rooms are large with two queen beds and a sitting area with a sleeper sofa and wingback chairs. Each room is air-conditioned and has a balcony with a mountain view. Smoking is not permitted in these units.  Rates: $140 - $170
Heidi Building
The Heidi Suites sit next to the Main Lodge and they back up to the restaurant and the old Buchanan Burial Ground. The Heidi Suites were completely renovated during the '02/'03 winter. These are large suites with air conditioning and separate sleeping and living areas. A large deck gives you a mountain view that is spectacular. Smoking is not permitted in these units. Maximum occupancy is two unless authorized by the manager.   Rates: $140 - $170
Alpine Building
The Alpine Suites sit next to the Main Lodge and they
back up to the restaurant and the old Buchanan Burial

Balsam Cottage
Balsam was once the managers cottage for the original Switzerland Inn.  A bark covered cottage, this is a great choice for those needing space and privacy. It contains a living area, two bedrooms, two baths, four double beds, gas fireplace, and front porch. Rate based on four people.
Rates: $160 - $190
Caprice Cottage
Caprice was once the tea room for the original Switzerland Inn. It is a charming, unique and very popular cottage with
king size bed, gas fireplace and cathedral ceiling. One wing with full bath, another wing with dressing area and sunken tub. Maximum occupancy two people. Rates: $160 - $190

A-Frames
A-Frames are chalet style units with a small living area, bedroom with king bed, and bath, all downstairs.  A ladder enables you to climb to the sleeping loft which contains a double bed. The loft is not suitable for very young children or the elderly. We have found the A-frames best suited for a family of four with two children ages 6-13.  Rate based on four people.  Rates: $130 - $160

For registered guests, all rates include daily full breakfast, use of swimming pool (in season), tennis courts, and shuffle-board. Our Chalet Restaurant overlooking the scenic mountains of North Carolina also serves lunch and dinner for your convenience and pleasure. Beer, wine, and mixed beverages are available

  • Hike to the top of Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak in the East or through the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area.Grandfather Mountain is close as well.
  • Golf on courses with breathtaking mountain views.
  • Enjoy day excursions or horseback riding, gem mining, and trout fishing.
  • Visit craft centers like Penland, theme parks such as Tweetsie Railroad, and the Biltmore Estate.
  • Take a swim, explore a waterfall, or treat yourself to an ice cream.  It’s all nearby Little Switzerland!

Weddings at The Switzerland Inn

Many weddings are held at the Switzerland Inn. We have plenty of room for your entire wedding party. Banquets can be held outdoors in the beautiful surroundings or indoors in our reception area.

The inn is located at milepost 334 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, within 1-2 hours driving distance of Asheville, Charlotte, Hickory, and Johnson City.
