In Cape May, the Bed and Breakfast capital of the world, there is one that stands out from the rest-The Mission Inn. The Mission Inn with its sweeping verandas is one short block from the Atlantic Ocean. Inspired by Nelson Z. Graves' journey to the Pacific Coast at the turn of the 20th century, The Mission Inn is a perfect example of California Spanish Mission Architecture. Its stained glass windows gracing the dining room, Flemish gable, and latticed veranda contribute to the warm feeling of this al fresco house.

The Inn is blessed with spacious, sunny rooms.

There are comfortable love seats and lounging chairs throughout the room. The room offers an "ocean peek". Sit and enjoy the same relaxing atmosphere as did Tyrone Power, Erroll Flynn, Gloria Swanson, Diana Barrymore and Robert Preston, a few of the stars entertained by a former owner in the 1950s and 1960s.

An open air breakfast is served on the Veranda beneath the pergola. The Veranda is awashed in morning sunshine. Guests relax, watch and listen to the awakening day. The Veranda provides a shaded respite in the afternoon where you may enjoy hors d'oeuvres and is a comfortable gathering place in the evening.

Our breakfasts begin with a choice of unique juices. Next is a farm fresh fruit dish of poached pears, baked apples, fruit parfaits, fresh melon or assorted fresh fruit of the day. Completing your breakfast is the innkeeper's special entree of the day.

The Mission Inn is the perfect setting for a small wedding, family reunions, business retreats and meetings, birthdays, anniversaries and other special celebrations. Our knowledge of locally available professional services, including five star catering, allow us to assist you in your pre-planning of the event. Breakfast will be served each day and lunch can be arranged.

"Babymooning"??? What is that all about you ask?

The Mission Inn specializes in pampering the Mother-to-Be. So why not a romantic getaway before your special gift arrives. The honeymoon is over and the babymoon begins!!!  Yes, it need not be her first child, however, every expectant parent is in need of some pampering before the new arrival.

Each babymooner couple receives a gift bag containing wonderful goodies for both expectant parents and for the new baby. And Yes!!! For those craving pickles, there is a jar tucked into The Mission Inn babymooner gift bag as well.
