Tucked high in the Catskill Mountains, just two hours from New York City, there exists a romantic 135-year-old Victorian Country Estate on a 250 acre private lake, surrounded by thousands of acres of hardwood forest and wildlife preserve. .

Like resort lodging, the Inn provides a variety of summer and winter recreational facilities, including the use of a nearby full-service health and fitness club. Unlike larger hotels, the Inn, with just 15 guestrooms, is an informal, casual country retreat that assures guests a more relaxing, private, rustic mountain lake environment. Over the years, the Inn has received various awards and has been praised by various travel articles and publications, as well as guests, as one of the most enjoyable destinations in the Catskill Mountains.

The Inn consists of three distinct dwellings: The Lodge with its casual English Country environment; and for more rustic accommodations, the Adirondack-style Cottage and Carriage House guestrooms with their own private entrances, where pets are welcome. Rates: $150.00-$405.00

Breakfast is served on the screened veranda, surrounding guests with the sounds and feel of the lush green forest. When glassed in during winter, the veranda allows guests to experience the beauty of a surrounding snowscape.

Guest Information

The following are our terms and conditions regarding reservations. Please keep in mind that they are not etched in stone and sometimes we might be able to accommodate special requests.

Rates
$185.00-$640.00
Rates are daily, double occupancy and include lodging, a full service country breakfast, all day “help yourself” lunch and snack foods, access to the internet and all recreational facilities including pool swimming, hiking trails, tennis courts and a full-service health and fitness club ten minutes from the Inn. In addition, all rental equipment is free to overnight guests and includes fishing boats and kayaks, bicycles, tennis rackets, cross-country skis, boots, poles and snowshoes. Depending on conditions and time of year, not all facilities and services may be available. Rates are subject to change without notice. A 10% service charge is added to your bill, which covers all gratuities. Special Rates are available for Business Meetings, Business Travelers, Workshops, Seminars and Corporate Retreats.
Minimum Stays
The following are our minimum stays. However, we also accept one night stays on weekends and holidays on our Partial Stay Program. Please inquire. Mid Week: No minimum.
Two night minimum: All weekends, and weekdays during July and August, and Christmas Week Three night minimum: President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day & New Year holiday.
Children
The adult environment of the Inn at Lake Joseph provides a welcome break for those parents who seek time away from the day-to-day responsibilities of raising small children. We try to encourage this environment by welcoming children twelve and above. Children under 12 are welcome Sunday through Thursday, September through June, except holidays and Christmas week.
Pets
PLEASE NOTE: The town of Forestburgh has a leash law, but you may give your dog off-leash time around the grounds of the Inn and the Inn's surrounding forest, providing you are with your pet at all times and respect the feelings and comfort levels of others. However, because the beach area is located in a relatively confined space that is shared with homeowners, the leash law is strictly enforced even if there are no other people in sight. Please respect this law.
Fishing
PLEASE NOTE: To protect Lake Joseph from contamination brought in from other bodies of water, the LJHA does not allow outside boats or motors. However, you may use one of the Inn's approved electric motors if you bring your own battery and charger.
Check In / Check Out Times
We guarantee your guest room no later than 2pm, but if it's ready earlier, we'll put you right in. At checkout, we must have access to your guest room no later than noon, but you may stay on premises the rest of the day to enjoy the facilities.
Cancellations
If you cancel your reservation within two weeks of your arrival date, you may be subject to a minimum charge of one night or one third of the cost of your stay, whichever is greater, unless your guest room is re-rented.
