Situated on the Connecticut River in rural Lyme, New Hampshire, just a dozen miles
north of Hanover and Dartmouth College, Breakfast On The Connecticut
provides a peaceful getaway for Dartmouth parents and alumni, vacationers, business
retreats and group events. Its proximity to many summer camps in the Upper Valley
Region makes it the ideal spot for visiting parents and families. While our own property
offers ample opportunity for canoeing, kayaking, fishing or biking, we are close to golf,
horseback riding, downhill and cross country skiing, snowmobiling and major recreational
areas in both New Hampshire and Vermont.
Built in 1996, Breakfast on the Connecticut sits on 23 acres in rural Lyme, just a dozen miles north of Hanover and Dartmouth College. It has fifteen bedrooms, each with private bath and some with in-room whirlpool tubs. Each room has its own color TV/VCR, telephone and individual climate control. The bedrooms are almost evenly split between the main house and the architecturally intriguing 12 sided round "Barn", which is as well appointed as the main house, but just a touch quieter. An enclosed passageway that also provides access to the gazebo-protected spa connects the "Barn" and the main house.
The premises is fully sprinklered and alarmed for your safety.
High on a knoll overlooking the scenic Connecticut River and the hills of Vermont, you will find Breakfast On The Connecticut, with its beautiful views and surroundings, whatever the season.
In the summer, our landing
and dock on the lazy river provide a refreshing retreat. You may want to explore the river
in one of our kayaks or canoes. Or explore the back roads of Vermont and New Hampshire
that seem designed for that nice long run or bicycle ride.
In the autumn, whether you join us for a
football weekend getaway or just to admire the changing colors on both sides of the river,
there is a slight nip in the air that offsets the soothing warmth of the outdoor spa.
In the winter, Lyme is also the home of the
Dartmouth Skiway, a family friendly place, while cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and
other downhill facilities are within an easy drive.
Whatever the season, Breakfast on the Connecticut is the perfect place to do it all or simply relax.
