"Rancho Manzana...is imbued
with a very peaceful, relaxing quality...the house
is genuine, not a "made up" style, and so has great character and
integrity."
Santa Fean, October 1996
Rancho Manzana, located on the historic Plaza del Cerro in Chimayo, New Mexico, was the family residence and mercantile store of the Ortega family. The building dates from the mid-1700's, a time when Northern New Mexico was still largely unsettled. Since 1992 we have operated Rancho Manzana as a private business, taking great care in an on-going restoration process to provide a relaxing, hospitable retreat within this wonderful adobe structure
A 30 minute drive from Santa Fe takes you to a tranquil, timeless rural paradise. Leaving the highway, you'll pass through the Nambe pueblo and the red sandstone "badlands." The light is magical, and the setting is in many ways unchanged from centuries past, as you head toward the cluster of trees and adobe houses that is Chimayo.
