Nestled on a quiet street, just off famed Bellevue Avenue, the Brinley is centrally located in Newport's Historic Hill District.
The Brinley is one of the larger Inns in Newport. Each house has it's own porch and a parlor where guests can opt to relax a while prior to the commencement of a busy day, or likewise, at the end of one.
Newport's Brinley Victorian Inn consists of two connected houses: one built circa 1850 has seven rooms; the other built circa 1870 has nine. The properties have had a number of uses through the years including guest house, apartments, retirement home and finally a bed and breakfast Inn in 1980.
You may also choose to sit in the private Victorian courtyard, situated between the two houses, which is stocked with a variety of flowers and plants for guests to enjoy.
Most of the furniture is of genuine antique origin and soft furnishings, curtains, wallpapers and incidentals are all chosen to maintain the desired ambiance of the period. For this reason there is a deliberate policy of no T.V's or telephones in the rooms as the Brinley should be regarded as a quiet " getaway from it all " environment, or better still, a romantic retreat in elegant, serene surroundings.
At the Brinley no two rooms are decorated the same but all have a Victorian theme. All rooms have private baths and air conditioning in the summer.
Attention to detail and cleanliness is our specialty with fresh flowers in each room and mints on the pillows.
The Courtyard is an ideal spot in which to eat your lavish continental breakfast on sunny mornings (freshly baked and prepared by Jennifer), or maybe to sunbathe away from the hustle and bustle of Newport when the mood dictates.
Whirlpool tubs and working fireplaces are available to those who wish to pamper themselves and their loved one to that extra special degree.
There is also a small library from

The Brinley is a smoke free establishment and children over eight are generally accepted but, sorry, we cannot accommodate your favorite pet.
