    Gracing the quaint coastal village of Little Compton  this 18th century farmhouse and private cabin are surrounded by a country setting.

Little Compton is a wonderful getaway from your busy schedule or city heat, we are located 2 miles from the town beach, fill your days soaking up the sun, biking, walking. A visit to Sakonnet Vineyards for some wine tasting is recommended or if a cup of coffee is what you like The Art Cafe has just what you need, not only do you get a great coffee in a relaxing setting you also get to check out a variety of local artists at the Gallery. Newport and Providence are just forty minutes away, and neighboring Tiverton offers some great Antique stores.

Harmony Home Farm Bed and Breakfast offers The Vernon Room (pictured left)  and The Brady Cottage for your pleasure.

The Vernon room boasts its own private entrance, a lovely sitting area, queen size bed and private bath. A continental breakfast of fresh fruit, grown on the farm, homemade muffins or scones, tea or coffee is served, enjoy in your room or taking in the country morning on your sun porch.

The Brady Cottage is fully equipped, a 1 bedroom with a full kitchen and a pull-out couch bed in the family room (great for small children). Grill out or order in and enjoy a spacious yard. Rates: Call for current rates.

Places of Interest

  • Gray's Store, Built in 1788, by Samuel Church, Gray's is one of, if not the oldest continuously operating stores in the country.
  • In the Village of Adamsville: Contains old post office (first in Little Compton, 1804). Original soda fountain, candy and tobacco cases, and ice chest. Aged cheddar cheese, Gray's Meal, penny candy, antique display items, vintage clothing and collectibles.
  • Monument to Elizabeth Pabodie. Commons Burial Ground. Gravesite of first white girl born in New England, a daughter of Pilgrims John and Priscilla Alden.
  • Rhode Island Red Monument. Main Street, Adamsville. Commemorates the breed established in 1854 and honors the famous edible commodity which gave the poultry industry to the world.
  • Sakonnet Vineyards. (1975).  Tastings, tours and audio-visual presentation throughout the year, self-guided vineyard walks
  • Wilbor House, Barn, and Quaker Meeting House. West Road. Historic early 18th century structure, maintained by Little Compton Historical Society. The Wilbor House was built during 17th, 18th, and 19th Centuries and restored in 1956 by Little Compton Historical Society with period furnishings. Barn contains historical New England farm items, tools, utensils, and vehicles. OPEN: Wilbor House & Barn

Today, Little Compton is a rural-farming community. It was in Little Compton that the famous Rhode Island Red, (a breed of fowl and the State Bird), was developed. Fishing is still a major industry in the town, as one can observe with the daily departure of the fishing fleet from the Sakonnet Wharf. The town has also developed into an ideal vacation spot with the traditional atmosphere of colonial New England.
