Claiborne House was built as a single family home in 1872 and was named after Captain V. H. Claiborne who was the original owner.

It is a modified Greek Revival design with a front gabled roof. The Claiborne House features two 40 ft. porches on each side of the house.

The house has the original molding, heart of pine floors and thirteen-foot ceilings.

There are six guestrooms. Four of the rooms are located inside the main house and two in the new carriage house. Claiborne house is furnished with antiques.   All the bedrooms have private baths, color televisions, showers or shower/tubs and ceiling fans.

The Claiborne House is only blocks from the downtown shopping area.

To further the theme of Romanticism and Elegance, all of our rooms are named after romantic poets.

All rooms have a framed poem, cable TV's, private baths, ceiling fans, and book of the poet's work.

Claiborne House Rooms
Browning's Room-- Private entrance, furnished with mahogany antiques from the 1850's. This room is also graced with a wood burning fireplace and a private bath featuring a Jacuzzi tub for two.
$169 per night plus tax 		Wilde's Room-- King room decorated in hunter greens and shades of rose. A Jacuzzi tub for two makes this room a favorite for romantic get-a-ways. Mahogany antiques accent this elegant room which has a lovely view over the backyard area.
$149 per night plus tax
Yeats' Room-- This is a king size room upstairs in the main house. This room is decorated in Burgundy and tapestries. The king size bed has a padded headboard covered in tapestry. The sink is in a Victorian dresser sitting in the room. The bathroom features a shower. Very elegant and romantic.
$139/per night plus tax 		Keats' Room-- This room is in our Carriage House and has recently been renovated. The king size bed has a padded headboard covered in cream fabric. The room features a jacuzzi tub for two, new Victorian carpet, separate shower, and cable TV. Perfect for honeymooners and romantics at heart.
$159 per night plus tax
Tennyson's Room-- Furnished with a Victorian iron bed (queen sized), footed tub in the room with a private toilet area.
$119 per night plus tax		 Dickinson's Room-- Dickenson's Room is in the Carriage House and is furnished with a queen walnut Plantation Bed from the 1870's, walnut antique dresser, and a private shower bath.
$129 per night plus tax

A full Southern gourmet breakfast is served with crystal and china in the dining room at The Claiborne House. Breakfast is served at 9:00 AM so you can have the luxury of sleeping late. (We will accommodate those who must leave early)

At The Claiborne House we want you to forget there is another world.  Come and relax on one or our 4 porches. On one you will find wicker furniture for your pleasure. On another there are wood rockers and a porch swing. Take your pick!

To further the theme of Relaxation and Comfort, The Claiborne House has an on site day spa with certified Massage Therapists for your convenience.

Policies
  • We are unable to accommodate children or pets.
  • Room rates are based on double occupancy only.
  • Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, cash, and checks acccepted
  • The Claiborne House will accept cancellations 7 days or more prior to the reserved arrival date, 30 days or more prior to holidays / special events.
  • If you cancel within the aforementioned period, a one night lodging fee will be charged.
  • There is a $25 cancellation fee in addition to the one night stay if it is cancelled within the 7 days. If cancellation is prior to the 7 days, then there is only the $25 fee.
  • If  we are able to rebook the room or suite, you will not be charged.
  • We do have a Christmas Season that starts on Thanksgiving Day and
    runs through Dec. 31. All rooms are $20 more per night during this time.
