1906 'olde English' style manor.

Tucked neatly within the heart of the Salt Lake Valley, minutes away from city center and many world famous canyon ski areas is historic Haxton Manor. Built around 1906 by pioneers, the inn in fully documented in Utah's legendary Historic Register. Prominently located in the distinguished Avenues district, the inn perseveres in remarkable elegance.

Buffi and Douglas King have completely renovated the house, while maintaining the integrity of the original builders. The modernization of Haxton Manor includes gas and standard fireplaces, replacing coal or wood burning stoves. Old bathtubs have been replaced with jetted tubs, with the added convenience of gas heating for warmth. Each room comes equipped with its own thermostat. The entire house is insulated and soundproofed, unlike the original home where a whisper in another room involved everyone on that floor.

For that added special touch, each of our rooms are decorated with the convenience and comfort of each guest.

Each room is individually decorated and inspired by Victorian English style manor design.

Our amenities are favorably compared to the finest hotels and inns of the world. From the restored beauty of an "olde English" style manor, to the luxury of contemporary service, you will experience the true meaning of comfort.  Rates range from $99.95 to $169.95

Enjoy a continental breakfast served each morning between 7:00 - 9:00 during the week days, and between 8:00 - 10:00 on weekends, in our charming dining room or for that special occasion, in the privacy of your own room

Walking and jogging areas for the fitness minded are as close as the front door. During inclement weather, there is an exercise bike in a private room for your convenience. Downtown city center and the University of Utah are both healthy 15-20 minute walks in either direction.

  • Reservations confirmed with one night's deposit, fully refundable with ten-day notice.
  • Cancellations with less than ten day's notice or "no shows" charged for entire stay.
  • Corporate and group rates available.
  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Personal or Traveler's Checks and cash.
  • Haxton Manor is a smoke-free environment, however, we have a comfortable smoking area with ashtrays supplied.
  • Our Inn is not suitable for small children or pets.
